– A group of questions relating to how talent Stephanie H. got started, her journey, insights and advice for other aspiring talent.
Who you are and how did you get started?
Hi, my name is Stephanie and I’m an artist with Castango. I’m originally from Lawrence Kansas. I’m a singer, dancer and also a model. I have worked as a presenter, emcee, a product specialist, and a brand ambassador. I have worked at trade shows and conventions as well as do runway, fashion and print. I have worked at six flags as a casting manager and also have experience in staffing promotions. I was an account coordinator for events and promotion companies throughout the years.
If you had to describe yourself in only one word, what would it be?
If I describe myself in one word, I would say hard-working. And why? it’s because a lot of my friends and family refer to me as the “yes person”. I tend to say “yes” to everything. I have a jam-packed schedule, going from event, to an event, to an event. Whatever it takes to keep going and stay busy in this industry, “hard-working” is a good word that a lot of people would describe themselves as well.
What is the biggest difficulty you ever encountered as talent?
The biggest difficulty I have encountered as a talent is that sometimes some of my clients are not satisfied or impressed. Always do the best you can. You can work extremely hard, give the best presentation as possible, keep your head high, smile and let them know you are confident in doing your job and they will have confidence in you.

How do you like being an independent artist?
Being an independent artist means a lot to me. Because I get a lot of flexibility, I don’t have to actually work full-time, I can be at home with my family. It also allows me to have a lot of creativity in my life. I can work in different projects and constantly furthering my craft. I can take dance classes, voice lessons, I can work on my public speaking skills, etc…
What are your future goals?
So my future goals in this industry would absolutely to be an on-camera talent. I love the stage but I really liked to be a host on the TV show, working on the news, and even HSN, doing the Jewelry segment. I think it would be absolutely fabulous.

What advice you would give to other aspiring talent on Castango?
My one piece of advice for any aspiring talent in the industry as an independent artist would be to be a “yes person”. Every audition, every opportunity, every job you possibly get, say “yes”. Because that experience will become so valuable to you. As you get older, you become more experienced, then you will be able to become a little bit more picky and choosy about the jobs you want to accept.
What do you like about Castango.com?
Castango is a wonderful casting platform that I like to use as an independent contractor to help me get jobs in modeling, dancing, acting and singing. It is also a great platform for national travel with jobs. I want to say that traveling and working are some of the best experiences I’ve ever had. When I was dancing for Carnival Cruise Lines, I traveled all over the world. The opportunities are endless, if you are willing to go somewhere for a job, you can see the world and get paid to do it.
Who would you say thank you to for their support on your talent journey?
If there’s anyone that I could say thank you to, I would say my younger brother. In my earlier career, he was my No.1 fan. He believes that I can do anything and book anything. Because of him, I really persevered and every time I got a no, I went back to the audition again until I got a yes. The later part of my career, my biggest fan is my husband. I’m so grateful to have somebody to support me along the way. He is such a wonderful partner that really pushes me to go for my dreams.
Stephanie currently has over 21.4K followers on Instagram and is proud to be a mother of 2 babies. If you are trying to book more well-paid gigs and would like to take control of your work life as an independent artist like Stephanie, why not
